What Is

Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a laser – an intense, pulsating beam of light – to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future growth.

What Our

Clients Say

I would highly recommend Luxe laser & beauty! I have been going here for the last year and have never been so happy with my results! I have been doing laser last couple of years and have tried many laser machines (different spa’s) but would not work! Since I’ve been seeing Nesma, not only is she amazing but she’ll talk you through the process and explain everything with details. Customer service is phenomenal and you’ll feel right at home.

What a wonderful experience I had at Luxe Laser & Beauty Spa. The staff is very professional and very thorough and the space is extremely clean. The results of my laser treatments were amazing. I was very skeptical before I started my treatments, but I saw AMAZING results after just one treatment. And now almost a year later my results are incredible! This was definitely money well spent!

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a laser – an intense, pulsating beam of light – to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser beam passes through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future growth.

How Many Sessions Do I Need?

Results differ for each individual, most people need at least 8-12 treatments, additional sessions may be required depending on the individual and body area being treated. The sessions are spaced 4-6 weeks apart depending on the area and individual.

Why Are My Results Different from Others?

Results and amount of sessions depend on: The contrast of your skin and hair color, ethnic background and family history, hormonal level, consistency with appointments.

Can All Areas Be Treated?

Yes! However, eyebrows are not recommended because they are too close to your eyes. Additionally, areas with tattoos will be avoided during treatment.

Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

It is permanent hair reduction. Certain individuals can reach close to 99% hair decline, usually, you will have up to 85% hair reduction after a series of recommended sessions. After that, touch ups will be needed but minimal. Important to note that, hormonal changes can also affect future hair growth.

Am I A Candidate To Do Laser Hair Removal?

Generally, you are not a good candidate if you have a history of seizures, epilepsy or are pregnant, nursing, or plan to become pregnant while undergoing LHR treatments. Individuals who have used Accutane within the past 6 months or who use any medications requiring limited exposure to sunlight should postpone treatment. The laser is not effective on gray or blond (peach fuzz) hair.

What Are The Risks?

All medical and cosmetic procedures are associated with certain risks and may result in complications. Possible risks and complications associated with LHR procedure include:

  • Temporary reddening, burning, swelling, bruising or discoloration of the skin over the treated area.
  • Blistering, scarring, activation of cold sores, infection or permanent discoloration, which may occur in rare cases. If you have a history of cold sores please take Valtrex 3 days before.
  • Folliculitis, which is an infection of the hair follicle, which may take several days to resolve.
  • Hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) or hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin), while rare, may take several months to fully resolve.
  • Crusting or blistering of the area exposed to laser, which is rare and which may take several days to heal.
  • As with all LHR procedures, some re-growth of hair may occur after treatment sessions are completed.

What Should I Do Before Treatment?

  • NO tanning of any form, including tanning beds and/or self-tanners, for at least 4 weeks prior. Sun exposure can cause
scarring, hyper pigmentation, hypopigmentation and laser burns which can be permanent.
  • Do not tweeze, thread, wax, epilate, bleach or use Nair for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
  • The area to be treated should be freshly cleaned, left with no makeup, deodorant, lotions, creams, antiperspirants etc.
  • Shave the areas to be treated the night before or morning of your appointment, unless otherwise stated by technician.
  • Exfoliate the area prior to treatment if possible, to remove any dead skin cells on the surface and it will help along the natural shedding process. Laser hair removal treatments will penetrate deeper and be more effective when there no residual cells on the surface.
  • Revise medication history with technician before treatment. If you are on strong medications, please consult with your doctor if laser hair removal is right for you.

What Should I Do After Treatment?

If you experience redness or mild discomfort you may use Aloe Vera gel or hydrocortisone cream . Avoid any activity that may elevate body temperature, such as any forms of exercises, hot baths, Saunas, Jacuzzis etc., for 48 hours. Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after. Wearing broad spectrum SPF 50 and covering the area. Do not use any form of exfoliation on the treated area until the hair starts to fall out. You may only shave between sessions. Do not use any other forms of hair removal, such as waxing, electrolysis, threading etc.
